Corrozine L 35 is a 35% solution of hydrazine that contains a catalyst to increase reaction rates at amblent temperature. This catalyst is an organic substance which does not form deposits and is harmless to metal surface.
Corrozine L 35 is used to remove oxygen chemically from feed water and boiler water in steam generating systems to prevent the formation of iron oxide and copper deposits on boiler surface and to prevent corrosion by condensate and feed water.
In performing these functions, no dissolved solids are produced. This is an important factor in high pressure boilers where dissolved solids must be controlled at very low levels.

Theoretical dosage based on feed water is :
2.86 parts of Corrozine L-35 for each part of oxygen, plus 0.14 parts for each part of ferric iron, plus 0.36 parts for each part of cupric copper, plus a small excess to maintain a slight residual of hydrazine in the boiler water.
Advantage For Catalyst
Catalyst helps hydrazine to remove its limitations.
i) by increasing rate of reaction 10 to 100 times more, ii) by removing sluggishness of its reaction at low temperature, iii) by helping to remove oxygen even at lower PH, iv) by helping to remove total oxygen at very lower concentration of hydrazine.
His catalyst is a redox chemical which functions as an oxygen transfer agent. Above all disposal of hydrazine treated solution present no problem so long as catalyst is used.
Corrozine L 35 should be fed continuously by means of a chemical feed pump. The point of feed is dictated by the specific problem to be corrected.
Hydrazine Test Set is used to determine the concentration of Corrozine L35 in boiler water samples. The test is a simple colorimetric test which produces a yellow color that is proportional to the amount of hydrazine in the sample. A comparator containing standards is used to determine the concentration of hydrazine present.
